I am writing this article specifically with climate activists in mind, to help us orient our actions within the new context that has emerged over the last two years of the Covid pandemic. What are the ramifications of the pandemic, and the larger social, economic and political measures carried out in its name (namely, the “Great Reset”) for climate action at this profoundly critical time? With which directions do we align ourselves – the ones that are being laid out for us by the very same forces that have caused both our present ecological and epidemiological disasters – or directions we have consciously chosen for ourselves, that increase our self-reliance, freedom and restore our human rights while regenerating our fractured societies and our precious planet?

I have written elsewhere about the usefulness of Naomi Klein’s term “disaster capitalism” as a key explanatory principle for what is happening now, not just on the global scale for decades now but particularly the Covid agenda and all its attendant “emergency” measures, which have reaped outsize profits for the billionaire class calling the shots at the top, while decimating lives, livelihoods and wellbeing of the rest of the world’s people. “Disaster capitalism” is, in short, the tool par excellence of the late-stage capitalist end-times at which we have now arrived: having extracted, depleted and destroyed the natural abundance and balance of Mother Earth, they further exploit the disasters they have created by ramming through  their own techno-totalitarian global agenda to “save us” , imposing absolute control and extreme austerity on the masses while they (literally!) go to Mars with their profits!

“Disaster capitalism” is diabolically ingenious – it creates a disaster, then offers (today read “forces”) an even more disastrous solution, from which it reaps sky-rocketing profits and consolidates even more power. And the “Great Reset” in particular -- the quintessence of disaster capitalism -- is using both the Corona crisis and the climate crisis masterfully in this way. In both cases, it is the ultra-wealthy capitalist class itself that has engineered the crisis (Covid, climate) -- and then proffered even more pernicious solutions, rushing in as the saviours in the midst of the destruction, chaos and confusion they themselves have sown.

In the case of Covid, this meant (as has been increasingly revealed over the last two years) releasing a bio-engineered, lab-created virus, and then rushing in with devastating lockdowns, vaccines, vaccine passports and a whole new digital infrastructure of ubiquitous social control. Now, in 2022, they will increasingly turn their focus to the climate crisis – another crisis they themselves have caused by their own rampant greed over decades -- using it as a further pretext to consolidate their authoritarian regime, with further lockdowns, austerities, and a crowning Central Banking Digital Currency takeover -- the introduction of an AI-based Chinese-style social credit system of total surveillance and control by which our bank accounts can be cut off if we do not comply with their dictates.

Just as the Corona pandemic was engineered as a vehicle for this massive restructuring of society – the most monumental transfer of wealth and power to the elites at the top that has ever been perpetrated in human history – the climate crisis will be used as a pretext for the same (especially as more people begin to tire of the Covid agenda, and need a new, still more threatening crisis to cower them into submission.)

So climate activists – and all of us – beware… we need to be very alert to the way the merchants of the Great Reset will frame the narrative of the climate emergency -- and the measures needed to meet it – to their own self-serving purposes, and the detriment of the rest of us and all future life on Earth. These can be the end-times for the human race, or a powerful turning-point – but only if we see the lay of the land, and take it in our own hands to change direction: decentralization, local self-reliance, reforestation, Earth democracy, organic farming, building cultures of community, caring and regeneration. We know what we need to do (there are many wonderful groups charting the way); we just need to be very conscious not to be derailed, hijacked or co-opted by the Great Reset and its techno-fascist solutions, especially as they are so cleverly cloaked in feel-good, greenwash catchwords -- “sustainability”, “equity”, “justice”, etc., which can so easily deceive the unwary.

It is not more techno-fixes we need, and least of all techno-fascist ones, with their ever-escalating spiral of adverse social and ecological effects, but the embrace of a simpler, holistic way of living, in harmony with nature and each other, and the flowering of our highest, innate evolutionary potentials, in the service of the whole of life.

The Covid/Great Reset team are wolves in sheep’s clothing; do not be deceived. Make no mistake about it. The dystopian, transhuman world the Great Reset would usher in has nothing to do with “sustainability”, “equity”, “justice” or “building back better”, but in every way the opposite. Geo-engineering by the elites, austerities for the masses, the loss of human freedoms and rights, and our power over own decisions, our lives and the fate of our planet. This is what awaits us if we do not take our fate in our own hands.
People are now taking sides, in perhaps the greatest battle for our souls ever waged – human or transhuman; free and empowered, or enslaved – which way do we want to go? We have to do our research and understand the choice-point we stand at. This is a turning point in our fate. If we do not consciously decide for ourselves, it will be decided for us. The stakes have never been higher.
