Getting enough sleep is vital for our overall health and wellbeing.

A good night’s sleep regenerates our body, heals our cells, cleanses toxins, boosts immunity, controls blood sugar and strengthens memory.

Unfortunately, in our modern society, insufficient sleep is a growing problem.

Artificial light, exposure to a myriad of electronic devices such as TVs, computers and cellular phones, microwaves and electromagnetic radiations impact our ability to have a good night’s sleep.

Restful sleep can often feel like a rare luxury in today’s fast-paced world. The occurrence of insomnia and sleep disorders has been on the rise in recent times, affecting millions of people worldwide. The consequences of poor sleep can be far-reaching, impacting our physical and mental health and overall quality of life.

Insufficient sleep or poor sleep quality are associated with substantial health consequences including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, immune system dysfunctions, increased inflammation etc.

In this talk, Christine Godwin will share some holistic techniques to address these issues and improve the chances of getting a good night sleep or at least a good rest.

Christine has been a therapeutic practitioner since 1990 and has specialised in working with children and adults with special needs. Her main modalities are reflexology, reiki, therapeutic yoga and homeopathy. She has been a teacher and trainer on levels one and two of the Special Yoga teacher training courses for over 20 years, where she also shares yoga Nidra and yoga practices with the students.

Christine has been greatly inspired by her son Jacob, who is now 27 and currently lives in a Camphill community for adults. She believes passionately that we are our own healers, and this is how she approaches the modalities that she uses. She feels that what she is able to share is simply a trigger or a prompt for the life force to overcome being stuck, overloaded or overwhelmed and that these modalities, when carefully and intuitively applied, can make the shift that many people need to regain balance and harmony.

The talk will be followed by an open discussion, where we can share our thoughts and experiences.
